Danica Patrick, fitness model

Now, there is certainly nothing wrong with a woman who keeps herself in shape making a career as a fitness model and lifestyle guru. But it's a bit of a fall from grace from someone who was supposedly going to beat all the boys on the racetrack.
It's been a popular thought for some time that Patrick eventually would make the transition to a lifestyle career, maybe becoming some version of a Rachael Ray type. This much is true: Patrick appears capable of doing pretty much anything. She can whip up a five-course gourmet meal, pair wines, paint, and dress for either black tie events or black dirt at the race track.

Is carving out a space in the lucrative health and fitness business where she ultimately wants to be?

"Sure," she said after a long pause. "If I'm going to do all this and write a cookbook and a fitness program, I'll take this as far as I can to motivate people to be successful. The program works. I know it works."

After giving up dairy and gluten a few years ago, she really noticed the difference. She no longer would slog through a crummy afternoon and thought, "Man, today is just not my day."

"I just don't have those," she said. "The only thing that knocks me out now, sometimes, is allergies. But I don't get tired. I don't get full when I eat — and I eat all the time, too."

She is a firm believer in meal preparation, and almost always carries a cooler with healthy eating options. At Thanksgiving, she served a grain-free, dairy-free stuffing, and a cold salad of shaved brussels sprouts, toasted butternut squash and a homemade dressing.
Hey, at least she avoided becoming a victim of Hultgreen-Curie Syndrome.

"And her personal life? Well, the divorcee says she does want a family. Her April Fool's Day joke was to post a photo of herself and Stenhouse on her social media platforms suggesting they had gotten engaged."

Oh yes just hilarious. I once had a girlfriend who wanted to go to Los Vegas, when I agreed she would joke "There's a lot of chapels down there," it was then I realized that there are certain things that women don't joke about.

Isn't Stenhouse Oprah's old boy?

This was surely her fate from the start.

I don't doubt drivers need to be fit to drive at high speeds for hours on end in often crushing temps and with little sustenance. Her reaction time and tactical abilities notwithstanding, Danica was always an average driver at best. Why shouldn't she capitalize on what's left?

I don't think she's fooling herself, in private. But she has a public face to maintain, and transitioning from Badass Racecar Chick to Badass Yet Everyday Accessible Fitness Woman is a lucrative, marketable strategy.

Look to her birthing a child from donor eggs (her own frozen DNA or some other woman's) in the coming years as proof that you can, indeed, have it all!

What a statement from a perennial loser.

Dairy is good for you if you're white, with caveats.

Anyway, good for her. Sounds like she's one of those high-energy personalities.

as i pointed out when she went to NASCAR, Cup racing is pretty much the safest form of racing there is. you can still kill yourself doing it, but a LOT of things typically have to go wrong.

and, as i predicted, she never accomplished anything in a stock car. hell, Janet Guthrie STILL HAS a better record, if you go by percentages.

What's the role of fitness for just every day tasks let alone driving a car or truck for hours? I would expect being able to benchpress or squat a lot wouldn't matter for most things, like reading, cooking, or tending a garden.

The Force sisters have greater accomplishments than Patrick, meter for meter, mph for mph. And I saw Ashley Force fishtail in the first 25 meters of a race and not recover. Her father ran the same lane a few minutes later and won his sprint. Technique, skill, conditions, or some combo? In a short sprint event I'd guess the vehicle is prime versus pilot, but even when equipment and conditions are equally matched, women do not compare to men. In a long form race I suppose the circumstances only exaggerate sex differences rather than flattening them.

don't forget, John's crew would have made adjustments based on what they saw from Ashley.

being team mates, you'd expect them to be running very similar programming for the clutch pack shifting and fueling, so any error for one will be directly applicable to the next team mate to run that lane.

that's damning with faint praise.

Dur-hur-anica has NEVER won a race in a major series or been series champion.

that's the thing that's most annoying about Danica; that she's freezing out other POSSIBLY TALENTED female drivers, because she's got all the SJW sponsorship dollars locked up.

i mean, don't get me wrong. i think the evidence is in and the top tier of male racers are head and shoulders better than the women.

but IF you hope to find a woman who can put in a competitive race against men
THEN they need to at least be interested in learning the intricacies of the sport.

Kyle Busch ( former champion ) will run three NASCAR races ( trucks, Nationwide, Cup ) in a single weekend if NASCAR is tripling up at a track. if NASCAR isn't, Kyle is liable to bring out his Super Late Model and run a Friday night race at a local short track. ie - Kyle runs 2-3 feature races ALMOST EVERY WEEK of the season.

this is common with the male Cup drivers, to the point that it's been a point of contention amongst the Nationwide regulars for decades now that the Cup guys are beating up on them and taking what are rightfully the race winnings of the Nationwide regulars.

how many times have you ever heard of Danica running anything but a Cup race since she got jumped up from Nationwide? she ran the Eldora NASCAR truck dirt race *one* time, that's the only thing i know of.

in point of fact, Danica should be bringing a SLM with her every weekend and she should be starting from the back of the pack at a local short track. she'd learn how to pass, how to handle car-to-car contact, how to run multiple lines, how to respect other drivers, how to recognize when other drivers are trying to screw her over, how to PROPERLY use her to take other drivers out.

ALL skills which she currently lacks.

and all skills which she has no interest in learning.

which is probably the most aggravating thing about this; i don't know that she isn't capable of learning them.

but i DO know that she doesn't care that she doesn't know them.

I agree. That would be the last Thanksgiving I spent at her place.

So she was promoted wildly beyond her abilities because she was a woman and now reality is catching up. Sounds pretty standard for a woman's career.

She wasn't bad on the Indy circuit but she wasn't great either. She was a fixture of the mid-list and that combined with her looks was enough to send a lot of sponsors her way.

Hey, racing is show business guys.

Eyeballs are what matters and there are two ways to get those.

One; be a winning race car driver and Two; be the hottest chick behind the wheel and that was her.

It worked for a while but...

She's hit 35.

Not exactly the wall but...yeah it's the wall.

Her palm crystal is blinking red and she can't transition to MILF because she doesn't have MILF bod. She never had kids and does not want them. At 35 that bit of character really starts to show.

Her real problem is racing takes more out of you than you would think. The stress burnout is the real killer here. And I actually do get it.

Do you know what it feels like to be on a roller coaster?

Of course you do!

Do you know what it's like to be on roller coaster for three hours? Several times a week?

She is hitting another wall, she knows she can't keep doing that anymore so it's time to move on. And no getting around it she's younger than Rachel Ray.

Bob kek mando I don't disagree with any of your points. That the Force family would play chess is not beyond belief or comprehension and I suspect that the young women, while capable pilots, are willing to play test subject now and then. Though at the one particular race I witnessed, the Force girls experienced the same difficulties as other drivers due to minor treadwear in the track. Once John took the lane, his team had compensated for the vagaries of the surface.

Danica doesn't race much beyond stock cars. The current Monster series almost seems designed to favor her: stages, long breaks, laughably numerous cautions, and penalties I find laughable.

My favored driver, Carl Edwards, retired this past season. I'm happy for him and don't really care about the details of his reasons - ostensibly his family - but I wonder if the over structured format had something to do with it.

Yes, Danica has had a long ride based as much on her sex as anything...just like Dale Jr. had a long ride based on his daddy's name. Neither would have lasted very long if they were Joe Nobody. Danica is wisely changing careers, realizing that she will never be any better than she is now...a marginal driver.

Dale Jr. has finally settled down a bit, but maybe too late? I don't think he will ever be more than an average driver.

Milka Duno was WAY hotter. also about ten years older.

unfortunately, also way less talented than Danica.

i don't care for Junior and he certainly squandered the prime years of his career ( he wasn't even paying enough attention to find his pit box for a couple of years there ), but i'm going to have to say that even if he never wins another race his past superspeedway performance is going to lift him above your "average" driver.

it's not a question of willingness, it's luck of the draw.

if John draws the lane first, they'll use data from his run to modify the girl's cars.

mind, i'm not saying that John isn't the better driver.

i'm just pointing out that your example doesn't demonstrate that. now, if John makes a pass down the lane with little or no correction needed and Ashley is next in line behind him and stuffs it?

yeah, she's probably quite a bit off of John's ability.

Danica was bad in Indy, horrid in NASCAR. Indy, she could not run in traffic. This was before Wheldon died and they changed the cars to make it more difficult for wheels to touch. Running in the draft is paramount to success in NASCAR. Either she's scared or hasn't figured it out.

First years she was in NASCAR she had tons of fans at the track, now, hardly any. Once hype died down, and she hit the wall, there wasn't much reason for anyone to buy her t-shirts.

Why? I'm betting hotter ones can be found at random on Instagram.
